HANDLE WITH CARE
HANDLE WITH CARE
The Handle with Care initiative will roll out into all APS schools October 1st. Handle with Care is a communication program between first responders in the city and county and APS. When incidents happen that would impact an APS student, the first responders will notify APS Police and they will get the information to you at your schools. This notification will be emailed to the principal, the counselor, and the nurse at your school. Then a Handle with Care notification will go to school staff that work with this student. Counselors have been trained on how this process will work. They have all been instructed to train the school staff on-site. This program is NOT a call to action, but rather a simple notification so staff can keep a watchful eye on the student and provide support only if the child is not doing well.
