Title I Parent Compact

Title I School Compact 2017-2018

Revised: February 9, 2017


Parent Portion of Compact:


1.  I will teach my child the value of respecting self, others, and property.  I will also teach my child appropriate behavior and good manners.

2.  I will make sure my child attends school every day, arriving on time and staying until dismissal.

3.  I will be involved in my child’s education by: Reading with my child 20 minutes a day and asking my child questions about what was read to ensure comprehension; helping my child with the reading and math homework that is sent home each week; attending parent conferences and letting my child’s teacher know if my child is struggling with learning.

4.  I will read all the information the school sends home and contact the school when I have questions or concerns.


Student Portion of Compact:


1.  I will have Cougar Cool behavior: ROAR.  (Respect, On-task, Awesome Attitude, Responsibility)

2.  I will have good school attendance, be on time for class, and be ready to work everyday.

3.  I will ask for help from my parents and teachers when I don’t understand and need help.

4.  I will complete all homework assignments and read nightly with a parent for 20 minutes.


Teacher Portion of Compact:


1.  I will conduct myself in a courteous and professional manner.

2.  I will provide a challenging curriculum using the Common Core State Standards and set high expectations in academics and    behavior, which are designed to meet all students’ needs.

3.  I will monitor students’ progress in reading and math and communicate the progress to parents in a clear manner at least every six weeks throughout the school year.

4. I will provide positive behavior supports for students.


Administrator Portion of Compact:


1.  I will create avenues of communication that are easily understood and informative between school and home.

2.  I will act as an instructional leader by supporting teachers in their classrooms.

3.  I will involve parents in the educational process by: publishing a school newsletter, offering family/ parent activities, and inviting parents to participate at school.

4.  I will create a welcoming atmosphere for students, staff and parents.
